A few rogue tears escaped my cheeks, quickly followed by a flood as my emotions overwhelmed me. My hand, slick with sweat, trembled as I held the phone, caught in the raw intensity of Godden Matanga’s story. There were moments I wanted to plead with him to stop—I felt I couldn’t take another word. Yet at the same time, I found myself exclaiming ‘Hallelujah’ in awe of the miracles that he was describing. Listening to his story was like riding a rollercoaster in darkness—unpredictable and breathtaking.
